As well as carrying out the initial design of the site we provide the editor to Free as the Wind -the internet yachting and boating magazine. This means that all programs that are used on the site are developed by us, that we carry out the promotion of Sailing Now on the internet and that we give technical support to the site. In addition we also write articles and take pictures for the magazine and provide internet tuition as needed.

As Free as the Wind is a magazine, and so primarily a content-driven site, we have made a point of quick download times for our readers. Not only that, but many of the pages are designed to fit onto A4 paper so that they can easily be printed out and taken on board a yacht.

The main programming effort to date has been the provision of a suite of Perl scripts for the classified advertising databases. A small amount of Javascript has been used for tests and features and various admin shell scripts have been developed.
